Japan Part 1

During February I spent sixteen days exploring Japan with my girlfriend and a mate, starting in Niseko for the first eight days. After seeing pictures of the snow there I was very excited, and it did not disappoint! During our short stay over a metre of snow fell, which is a huge difference to the Australian conditions we were used to!!

The whole week was cloudy and snowing, stopping us from doing much exploring on the mountain(not that we could complain with all the snow!), but luckily on our last morning the sun came out and it was a perfect day to hike to the top. From the top lift it's around a twenty minute hike to the peak, and being the first sunny day in over a week there was plenty of people up there. We were rewarded with a powder run all the way to the bottom, just amazing conditions.

Apart from the snow everyone we ran into was amazingly nice and helpful and the food was insane, definitely keen to head back as soon as I can. Below are a few images showing the town and the crazy amounts of snow everywhere.

Be sure to check back for more posts on the rest of my trip!
